Understanding Flexible Instructional Days (FIDs) at NAHS

Norristown Area High School uses Flexible Instructional Days (FIDs) as an alternative to traditional in-person learning during inclement weather or emergencies. FIDs allow students to continue their education remotely, ensuring that learning stays on track without needing to extend the school year.

Here’s how it works:

  • Notification: Parents and students will be informed in advance when a FID is implemented.

  • Assignments: Students will complete assignments online or from pre-distributed packets, depending on their classes.

  • Support: Teachers will be available during regular school hours to assist students via email or other platforms.

These days count as official school days, helping maintain consistency in the academic calendar. For more information or assistance, please visit the district’s website or contact the school office.

Keystone Testing in December: What You Need to Know

Norristown Area High School will administer Keystone Exams throughout December. These standardized tests are a crucial part of Pennsylvania’s graduation requirements, assessing proficiency in Algebra I, Biology, and Literature.

Testing will take place on the following dates:

  • Literature: December 12 & 13

Students scheduled to take these exams have been notified. On testing days, it’s important for students to arrive on time (7:15 AM doors open), well-rested, and prepared. We encourage families to review test schedules and ensure students bring necessary materials, such as charged Chromebook, pencils and calculators.

The rest of the building " NOT" taking Keystones will arrive on a 3 hour delayed bus schedule and will not be admitted into the building until 10:20 AM.

Thank you for your support in helping our students succeed!
