Principal’s November Message

Greetings NAHS Families and Community,

As we move into November, our Norristown Area High School community embraces the season of gratitude and reflection. This time of year reminds us to pause and appreciate the dedication, resilience, and heart that make our school such a special place. From our hardworking students and supportive families to our committed teachers and staff, every member of the Eagle family contributes to the culture of learning and care that defines Norristown.

November also marks an important midpoint in the semester—a time to celebrate growth while setting goals for the months ahead. We are proud of the academic accomplishments, athletic achievements, and student leadership that continue to shine across our classrooms and hallways. As we approach the Thanksgiving season, let us carry forward a spirit of thankfulness for the opportunities we share and the progress we’ve made together.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students’ success. We look forward to a strong finish to 2025 and to celebrating all that makes Norristown Area High School soar

Dr. Detrick McGriff
Principal, Norristown Area High School

November

November is a pivotal time of the school year. Learning is becoming more pronounced as opportunities grow both in and out of the classroom.

Important Dates & Academic Info

  • November 3: Start of MP 2

  • November 4: Schools and Offices Closed

  • November 10: PFC Meeting

  • November 25 - 26 Parent conferences

  • November 27 - 28: Schools and Offices Closed

Time For Academic Review

In early November families will have an opportunity to review and engage with each young persons learning.  Students would have complete the first quarter of high school.  At this point there should be a significant amount of data to support a great vision for each and every student academic progress.

Parents can also support their young scholars by reviewing Quarter 1 Grades (Academics), Daily and class (Attendance), and engage their child in conversation. Infinite Campus can provide families with solid information to inform decisions on how to support learning best.

It's also important to note that Quarter 1 ends on October 31, 2025, and Quarter 2 begins November 3.

Approaching The Season of Gratitude

As we move through this season of thankfulness, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to our students and families. Your continued support, resilience, and commitment to growth make our school community truly special.

Every day, we see students striving to learn, lead, and lift each other up. We see families encouraging, guiding, and partnering with us to ensure success. Together, we are creating an environment where every student can thrive—academically, socially, and personally.

We also recognize that for some, this time of year may bring challenges or moments of hardship. To those students and families who may be struggling, please know that you are seen and valued. Even in difficult times, finding moments of gratitude can bring light and hope. Remember, this is a season—one that will pass—and brighter days are ahead. Our school community stands with you and continues to be a place of care, compassion, and support.  Please see the "Community Bulletin" below for more information and resources.

Thank you for your trust, your collaboration, and the energy you bring to our school. Let’s carry this spirit of gratitude forward as we continue building a positive and supportive community for all
