Back to School Information

We live in a digital age, which can be both a blessing and, at times, a challenge! At East Norriton Middle School, our school website serves as the primary source for important school information and resources for families.

This is especially helpful at the beginning of the school year. Rather than sending home numerous papers and documents in student backpacks, we post important information on our website so families can easily access it anytime throughout the school year. You may also notice some information may be empty, which means we are creating new forms and content which is not available at the time of this publication. However, information is regularly added when it becomes available.

The link below will take you directly to the Parent Section of our website. There, you will find helpful resources, including school supply lists, our Parent Handbook, the School-Family Compact, and other documents outlining important school policies, procedures, and expectations.

Throughout the year, we will continue to highlight important updates and newly posted information through our family newsletters and social media platforms. We encourage families to check these resources regularly to stay informed about what is happening at ENMS.

We Hope to See you There!

Infinite Campus - Viewing your Student's Schedule

All student schedules have been published in our Infinite Campus Student Management System. You can view their schedule, check grades etc. This is the best tool for seeing how our student is doing in school.

If you are having trouble viewing or gaining access to your student's schedules via the Parent Portal see the information below. The school is unable to assist with fixing issues with the parent portal, this is handled by our dedicated team of IT professionals. Parents can follow the directions below to solve any issues with Infinite Campus.

Car Rider and Walker Arrival Process

Below is a diagram of the student car rider and walker arrival process.

All parents must drop their student off in the car rider line (located in Lot C) in the back of the building. The yellow arrows indicate the flow and direction of the car rider line. Parents are not allowed to park their cars and have students cross our traffic flow to come into the building. We promise you, we have a very efficient drop off and pick up process. The red arrow indicates the flow and directional traffic flow exiting the school. All cars must exit onto Township Line Road.

NEW FOR 2026-2027: As students exit their cars they will walk around to the front of the building to enter through the doors according to their grade level.  7th and 8th graders will enter through the doors in front of the school. 5th and 6th grade students will enter the doors on the far end of the building by the flagpole. Students will no longer enter the doors in the back of the school. We have been asked by the district to limit our entry doors from 3 entrances down to 2 entrances. We know this is a mild inconvenience for students to walk around the building, but this is our new dismissal process we were asked to implement

Students may not be dropped off in the front of the building between the hours of 7:30-8:30 due to the large volume of busses and vans arriving at the school. .

If your student is arriving after 8:30 from an appointment or you are a little late to school, you can pull into the front of the school because all of our busses have left by that time.

Transportation and Bus Information

Students who ride ENMS transportation will be provided with their bussing information in the coming days. Please be sure to check email regularly this week to learn your bus information. For those students returning, most of the bus stops will remain the same. However, the bus number could change. All in all, the bus transportation is very similar to last year. Stay tuned for more information.

Parent Faculty Club Information

Below are some events and information on our Parent Faculty Club (PFC). Stop by their table at the Water Ice Night to learn how you can volunteer and be involved.

PFC Meeting Dates

Below are the monthly meeting dates for our PFC. All meetings are held on Google Meet, and a link is included in each week's parent newsletter. Mark your calendar to get involved at ENMS!

Visitor Sign in and other details

Overview of the Process

When parents or guardians arrive at the school, we ask that they ring the doorbell along the brick wall of the school. Mrs. Clemons will answer and speak to you through the intercom. Once she determines the purpose of your visit she will allow you into the vestibule area where you will use the touchscreen Verkada system to complete your process.

This new system allows you to sign in using your valid identification. It will also send a copy of your sign in information to your cell phone. When you leave the school you will sign out using your cell phone or our kiosk.

For future visits, the system will allow you to scan a QR code and sign you in without repeating your identification process. This is a much more family friendly process.

Dropping Off Forgotten Materials/Chromebooks etc.

If your student forgot something at home and you are bringing it to the school. You can ring the buzzer on the side of the building. The secretary will let you into the vestibule, and there is a large cart for you to leave your item(s). We will make sure your student gets the item(s). We do not call students down to the office to get the item directly from the parent. We will get it to them as soon as we can.

Process for School Meetings and Volunteers

The Verkada system requires you to present and scan your Pennsylvania drivers license. This new system will also accept out of state identification, and US Consulate cards. It will not accept blue US passport books.

Directions for the Verkada system are found in the lobby and the touchscreen iPad system is very user friendly. Once you sign in please have a set in the vestibule and someone will be out shortly with your identification badge from the Verkada system. Please remain in this vestibule area if you are a volunteer or attending a meeting until school personnel meets you and brings you into the school main office.

When you leave the building you will sign out using the iPad or using the notification sent to your cell phone.

Early Release Students or Students Who Became Ill at School

If you are picking up your child up for an early release due to illness or appointments you will follow this same process. You will remain in the vestibule and wait for a staff member to bring your student out to you. You will enter your student(s) name into the Verkada system, and scan your driver's license. We will bring your child out to the vestibule when they arrive in the office. To expedite your signout process, please be sure you submitted your absence into Infinite Campus using the parent portal.

Entering Early Release/Appointments in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal

If we did not receive a note in Infinite Campus parent portal your pick up will be delayed. Please do your best to use the Infinite Campus parent portal app to send in all notes for early release and absences.

Sending Someone to Pick Up Your Student

The individual picking up your student must be listed as an emergency contact in Infinite Campus. They also must use the Verkada sign out process, and have their identification with them.

If the person picking up your student is not listed in Infinite Campus as an emergency contact we will not release the child to them. Our school staff will attempt to contact you via telephone to identify if you have granted this permission. If you need to add someone to your emergency contacts please email Mrs. Clemons at tclemons@nasd.k12.pa.us or call her at 610-275-6520.

We're Here to Help

We want our families to know that we are always here to listen and help when you have a question or concern. Good communication between home and school is incredibly important to us, and our administrative team makes every effort to respond to families as quickly as possible.

If you have a concern that you would like to discuss with an administrator, we ask that you please call the school at 610-275-6520 and share your concern with our office staff. They will make sure your message gets to the appropriate administrator. In most cases, a member of our administrative team will return your call that same school day. When a face-to-face meeting is needed, we can often arrange a meeting that day or find another time that works for everyone.

We do ask families to avoid arriving at school during arrival, dismissal, or throughout the school day with the expectation of meeting immediately with an administrator. While we understand that a concern may feel urgent, our administrators have responsibilities throughout the day that include supervising students, conducting teacher observations, attending scheduled meetings, responding to student needs, and managing the daily operations of the school. Because of these responsibilities, we may not be able to step away for an unscheduled meeting.

Calling ahead is the best way for us to give your concern the time and attention it deserves. Rather than trying to have a conversation while an administrator is supervising dismissal, heading into a classroom observation, or attending another scheduled meeting, we want to make sure we can speak with you when we can fully focus on your concern.

Of course, if there is an immediate safety or emergency concern, please contact the school right away so that we can respond appropriately.

We greatly value our partnership with our families and appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Our goal is not to make it difficult to reach us—in fact, it is just the opposite. By calling 610-275-6520 first, you help us ensure that we can connect you with the right person and provide your concern with the attention it deserves.

Thank you for helping us keep communication between home and school positive, productive, and responsive!

Important School Policies

Below is the 2026-2027 East Norriton Discipline Policy. You can also find it in our parents section of the website. We have highlighted some polices in more detail below.

ENMS School Discipline Policy

ENMS Cell Phone Policy

As we embark on another exciting school year, I want to take a moment to discuss a policy that we believe is essential for our students’ success and well-being: the requirement for all students to have their cell phones turned off and placed in their lockers during the school day.

In today’s fast-paced digital world, cell phones are a part of everyday life. However, in a school setting, they can become distractions that interfere with learning. By ensuring that cell phones are safely stored away during school hours, we are helping our students to focus on what truly matters: their education.

Research shows that limiting screen time during school hours leads to better concentration, improved social interactions, and reduced anxiety. When students are not preoccupied with texts, social media, or games, they are more engaged in classroom activities, more likely to participate in discussions, and better able to absorb and retain the material being taught.

Additionally, this policy fosters a more positive school environment. Without the constant pull of their phones, students are more present in their interactions with peers and teachers. They build stronger relationships, develop better communication skills, and learn the value of face-to-face connections.

We understand that cell phones are important for staying connected with your child. In case of an emergency, you can always reach the school directly, and we will ensure that your child receives any urgent messages.

We ask for your support in reinforcing this policy at home. Please remind your child of the importance of keeping their phone turned off and in their locker during the school day. Together, we can create a focused, supportive environment where every student can thrive.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. We look forward to another successful year at East Norriton Middle School.

Cell Phone Violation Consequences

1st-3rd offenses: Teachers will ask the students to turn their phone off and place it in their locker, or ask the student to give it to the teacher. It will be returned to the student at the end of the school day.

4th offense: Students will give their cell phone to a teacher and the teachers will give it to the main office. The parent or guardian must report to the school to pick up the device. Cell phones are placed in a locked safe in the main office until parents arrive. A one-hour office detention will be assigned for each violation.

Chronic cellphone offenses: It is the policy of ENMS that students who chronically violate the cellphone policy despite warnings, parents picking up the phone etc. will not be permitted to bring their cell phone to school, or will be required to had it to an administrator or school counselor at the start of the school day.

Please take some time to review this policy with your student.

ENMS Dress Code

ENMS does not have a formal student dress code, but we do have two simple expectations that we ask families to keep in mind as we begin the school year.

Hoodies: Hoods Must Remain Down

Many of our students choose to wear hooded sweatshirts to school, which is perfectly fine. However, students must keep their hoods down at all times while in the building.

This is primarily a safety and supervision issue. With hundreds of students transitioning through our hallways throughout the day, it is important that our staff can easily see students’ faces and identify students when needed. Hoods can make this much more difficult.

Students who wear hoodies are welcome to do so; we simply ask that the hood remain down. Students who do not follow this expectation will be asked to remove their hood. Continued or repeated refusal may result in disciplinary consequences. Fortunately, this is rarely a significant issue at ENMS, but we appreciate families reinforcing this expectation at home.

Footwear: No Slides

We also ask that students do not wear slides to school. Students should wear shoes that are secured around the back of the foot. Crocs and similar shoes are permitted as long as the back strap is being worn properly.

Our primary concern with slides is safety. They can easily come off while students are walking and create a tripping hazard, particularly on our stairways and in crowded hallways.

These are two simple expectations that help us maintain a safe and orderly school environment. We appreciate your support in reminding students to keep hoods down and leave the slides at home!

counselor

How do I reach a school counselor?

We have two counselors at ENMS. These individuals should be one of your first points of contact if you need guidance related to any issue or problem your student may be facing during the school year. We can usually resolve issues quickly when parents contact their child's counselor. If you need to speak to your child's counselor their contact information is found below.

5th and 7th grade School Counselor: Ms. Gena Bussell gbussell@nasd.k12.pa.us

6th and 8th grade School Counselor: Ms. Sarah Weissinger sraimondi@nasd.k12.pa.us

safe to say gif

Know someone who needs help or is in crisis?

Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.

Here’s how it works:

  • Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system

  • Crisis center reviews, assesses and processes all submissions

  • Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention

  • If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app
