Dear Norristown Families and Community,

August is officially here, and while there are still a few weeks of summer left to enjoy, the energy at Norristown Area High School is already building! Our faculty, staff, and leadership team are hard at work putting the final touches on our plans for an extraordinary 2026–2027 school year.

Whether you are welcoming your first student to the Ninth Grade Academy or gearing up for a senior year to remember, we are thrilled to partner with you as we prepare to soar into another great year of Eagle Pride.

Summer in NASD: Growth, Momentum, and Eagle Pride! 

Summer 2026 was packed with progress across the Norristown Area School District! From academic gains to campus upgrades, our students and staff worked hard to build momentum for the 2026–2027 school year.

Academic & Career Milestones

NAEF-Sponsored Enrichment: Thanks to the Norristown Area Educational Foundation, students across the district enjoyed engaging, hands-on summer camps.

Credit Recovery Success: Approximately 300 NAHS students dedicated their summer to completing coursework, keeping them firmly on track for graduation. 

Keystone Target Camp: Students sharpened their mastery in Literature to boost test readiness and subject confidence.

DLL Student Internships: Students gained real-world workforce experience, participating at DLL, while supporting our community through specialized internships.

Staff Growth & Campus Upgrades

AP Workshops for Educators: Teachers completed advanced training to enhance rigorous, college-level instruction across our high school programs.

State and National Conferences: Norristown educators participated and presented at summer conferences leading the way 

Active Construction: Facilities teams worked around the clock on major campus updates and modernizations to prepare safe, top-tier learning spaces for Day 1.

Community Connections

Events & Conversations: District leaders engaged directly with families at local summer camps and community events, strengthening home-school partnerships.

Thank you to our dedicated staff, students, and community partners for a productive summer. We are ready to soar into 2026–2027!

New Teacher Induction Week: Tuesday, August 18 through Thursday, August 20, 2026

Professional Development (No School for Students): Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27, 2026

Roosevelt Campus of NAHS Orientation/Open House: Thursday, August 27, 2026 9:00 AM. More information. 

NAHS 9th Grade Orientation: Thursday, August 27 or Friday, August 28 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. Families will receive details with assigned date through Infinite Campus & a mailed postcard. More information. 

First Day of School: Monday, August 31, 2026

High School: 7:25 AM-2:10 PM

Middle School: 8:10 AM-2:55 PM

Elementary School: 9:05 AM-3:20 PM

September 2026

Schools and Offices Closed (Labor Day Weekend): Friday, September 4, 2026 and Monday, September 7, 2026

Early Dismissal (Grades K-12): Friday, September 18, 2026

Schools and Offices Closed (Yom Kippur): Monday, September 21, 2026
